Morgan Stanley, Nvidia have their answer to AI’s energy needs: nuclear fusion

Nuclear fusion is the tech industry’s in-vogue solution to AI’s endless electricity demands. Nvidia’s NVentures, alongside Gigascale Capital, Morgan Stanley’s Counterpoint Global, Khosla Ventures, Google and Mitsui & Co., have joined an investor consortium that poured $863 million into one of the sector’s leaders, Commonwealth Fusion Systems. The company did not disclose a valuation. Spun off from MIT, Commonwealth Fusion Systems is a leading developer of nuclear fusion technology and one of the closest to reaching commercial scale.
